What is UNI ISO 26000 - "Social Responsibility"?

Published at the end of 2010, the standard provides guidelines and a worldwide framework for the Social Responsibility of any type of organisation.

Developed with contributions from over 90 countries and 40 international organisations, the standard provides a framework aimed at creating an international consensus on the meaning of Social Responsibility.

It should be pointed out that it is not a certifiable standard, but rather a model: guidelines, suggestions, indications.

The ISO 26000 standard is now one of the fundamental tools for a path towards Corporate Social Responsibility and identifies seven fundamental themes:

  • governance of the organisation;
  • human rights;
  • relationships and working conditions;
  • environment;
  • consumer aspects;
  • internal area involvement;
  • community development.

WHO IS INTERESTED IN THESE CERTIFICATIONS?

UNI EN ISO 26000 is suitable for all types of companies and organisations, whether public or private.

The standard is aimed at anyone wishing to improve their social responsibility performance and/or integrate it into their current management system.
